My studio is back to being a gallery/tea room. It is looking good again after being a classroom and then the annual studio tour. I am ready to host tea parties again for  groups up to ten. I enjoy the tea parties so much.  I still have to go through the mess in my frame/supply room. I dread that so much. I have arranged my schedule to work on that project in July. I simply have to get rid of some stuff.

Happily, many paintings were sold during the studio tour this year. I am so grateful for that. Now I will begin doing new paintings to fill those spaces. I’ve been doing a lot of studies this year, before I do more complex versions of the scenes I wish to paint. I sell the studies unframed and take my time on the next versions. I think it is a good way to learn and improve skills.

This country painter stays busy….

I like to teach for a couple of years and then stop for a time. This month, I will have taught my painting class for two years.  I love my students and we are good friends. I miss them when I don’t teach.

I have come up with an idea. I am going to change to coaching painting and marketing on FaceTime in July. Anyone with an I-pad or I-phone can join me. Lots of artists need a bit of coaching and gentle critique for their paintings, and other artists need marketing advice.  I will still do these sessions on the second Friday and Saturday each month. . This will be physically easier for me and I won’t need to rearrange my studio for a class. I think it might be easier for many of my students as well. It won’t appeal to some, but will to others. 

I’ll share this with my class this weekend. I hope they will like it too.
