Art Tutorials and E-Classes
Artists Resources with Linda Blondheim

*Virtual Learning *

I have had several queries about the idea of virtual learning and how it

works. I have had great success with my private online students and the two marketing virtual Think Tanks I created. I decided about a year ago that it is time for me to make the transition from traditional studio and plein air workshops and classes, to online E-Classes.

I have created about eight E-Classes which I teach one at a time in 6

Week increments. I create a private blog for each class. Class members have permission to post to and read the blog, but no one else can read it. I post a new lesson each week, with photos, techniques, notes from the studio and

each week’s assignment. After four weeks, we have a two week time frame to finish assignments, have more involved discussion, critique, and Q&A, wrapping up the unit of study

I also offer a weekly virtual open studio class designed for painters who wish to study informally with individual projects, checking in once a week to receive help in an ongoing class.

Advantages

 There are many:

You have the luxury of studying at your own pace.

You have as much Q&A time as you want.

You have thoughtful and useful critique of your work in a non-threatening environment. Group or private, whichever you prefer.

There are no geographic barriers.

No traveling expenses.

Reasonable fees.

Study in your pajamas if you want to.

Sign up with a friend or a group and do the class work together.

You have easy access to all notes, assignments, feedback and materials to print out and save in your notebook.

Small numbers of students and individual attention. Classes are limited

To 10 students.

A good variety of subjects. I can create a class tailored to

 Your groups interest.

When you consider the time and expenses of travel to workshops, virtual learning is very attractive and easy. Many professional painters are  making the transition to virtual teaching to accommodate their student's busy schedules as well as their own.

Testimonials from my E-Classes Students

Linda's online E-Classes are well worth taking! I learned so much more about Design and Composition in these 4 weeks than I did in an entire semester of the same class at the local Jr. College. Linda made me figure things out and challenged me as an artist, which led me to see my work in a new light. These classes will take your art to a new level!

Critique Service

Have you ever wished you had a professional to critique your paintings? Stuck on a painting not knowing what to do?  I'll be happy to help you once a week with your paintings. Choose one day per week, Monday through Friday to send me images of your paintings via email. You will need a digital camera or a scanner. I'll work through them with you, offering suggestions to mprove composition, color harmony and values.  My service is 50.00 per month, so for 12.50 a week you have a critique over the internet. Use the service one month or regularly. It's up to you.

Critique Clients Testimonials

You are an exceptional art teacher, LInda, and I am thrilled to be able to work with you. You have a rare capacity to see and honor the student's style and vision (instead of trying to turn them into mini versions of yourself, like many painters do when they "teach"). Your critiques are insightful, on-target, detailed, and immensely helpful.

Color Mixing the Florida Landscape Art Camp

Just wanted you to know how much I enjoyed the color mixing workshop.  It is obvious you put a tremendous amount of thought and energy into its planning to make it such a wonderful learning and growth opportunity for us.  Every need was taken care of for us...all we had to do was put our learning hats on and paint.  Thank you (and you family, too) for the wonderfully  prepared lunch.  It was so relaxing to be able to sit back and chat with the other artists. It wasn't so comfortable at the time, but thank you for pushing us beyond our comfort zone in order to learn.

Color Mixing the Florida Landscape Art Camp

I was treated so well and FED great food! I need to go back on my cabbage soup diet now LOL! I have a whole new perspective on color and with the trusty notebook with more exercises she gave us, I am going to learn more and hopefully it will improve my work! The one think I found so cool about these color charts is they are invaluable to me for how to get to a certain color especially if you are using a limited palette for any reason. I wish I lived closer to Linda -- I would probably be stalking her at her door for her knowledge and her food :) Oh well, I do plan to go back up there again soon and may be force my brain to learn something else while hugging studio dog :)

I wanted to mention how much I like the Teaching a Workshop information packet I purchased from you. It was worth EVERY dollar! I highly recommend it to others.-

Just wanted to drop you a note of thanks on the great
workshop you conducted at Honeymoon Island on Friday. I know everyone enjoyed it as much as I did.

I though the focus of the workshop was right on target of what we all
need to keep uppermost in our minds when we start to paint--values and
composition! The notebooks you gave to us were outstanding--the best I've even
received at any workshop! I am so impressed with the effort you put
forth to make it a wonderful day for everyone. Thank you and I hope to
paint with you again some time.

It was a wonderful time, Linda. Thank you, thank you, thank you !!!!! I feel as though the value of the time, your skillful teaching, the riches of your amazing workbook, and all sorts of other benefits--oh, can't forget that lovely lunch--are worth so much more than we paid. What a bargain !!

Linda has continued to amazed me with her comprehensive help, insight, ideas, giving nature, and enthusiasm as a coach. I began working with Linda’s Online Artist Coaching Service in April of 2007. She works with my ideas and desires, and leads me to a sharp, focused direction. Gaining that focused work schedule has been invaluable. I am now making the best use of my time, instead of running in many directions with no end point and no expected result. Linda is forth coming with knowledge and assistance, straightforward, honest, and adds a touch of humor to her coaching. She has helped me to discover my best, and uncover strength I didn't know I had. I am thrilled at my progress since my work with Linda, and I am eagerly awaiting our continued sessions together.

Linda,
I just felt like I should tell you how much I've enjoyed reading your blog and painters tips. Not only is the information helpful, precise and specific with illustrated examples, but it's full of great ideas and encouragement. I hope I can remember some of your great ideas and painters tips when I need them!

I've found it very validating and interesting and wanted to formally thank you for sharing your knowledge with people like me!

Your tutorials have been a tremendous help already to get me out of this slump I've been in since July. I've not gotten through all the exercises yet, but I'm getting there. Your style of teaching is so easy to grasp, & your web site is down to earth. You make art seem just like a part of life & not up high out of reach. I've told a couple of artist friends about it.    I'm doing a painting for my daughter-in-law's birthday & have followed your "steps." My artist daughter thinks it's one of my best in about 3 years. The color theory tutorial was just what I needed to mix lively neutrals. I even experimented with mixing some of my own ( at least some I didn't know about). Thanks so much.  Best Wishes, Kay

Regarding Plein Air Summer 2006

I have never had such thorough instruction. At the university we were shown little more than just how to mix the paints and then just told to go at it. I can’t tell you how much I am enjoying the summer sessions. Thank you for your attention to us.

It's been about 8 years since I've taken any kind of class or workshop, well this past week I made an exception. It was an Alla Prima workshop with Linda Blondhiem, a plein-air painter known around the southeast region. She instructed us with many exciting exercises including some 15 minute studies (which I posted several of mine above). She is an awesome instructor with a library of knowledge in both art and marketing art. A must do workshop if you get the opportunity.

Thursday I was in an all day paint out work shop at Mead Gardens put on by Linda Blondheim and she is an excellent teacher! Got a 16x20 1/2 done in the afternoon from that and I am very proud of the composition with the help and guidance of Linda. I am going to be using all her tips from now on.

I honestly think you are one of the best Plein air teachers I've come across. The buzz is still on about the wonderful experience and all were very happy that they were in attendance. I sent a message to Plein Air Florida.  Thanks again.
